The Promotion to Chemical Dialogue of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2021

Absrtact
This study is the 2nd-year study of the APEC Chemical Dialogue (hereinafter called 'CD') for the Toxic and Chemical Substances Bureau Environmental Protection Administration Executive Yuan, R.O.C, Taiwan (hereinafter called 'the Bureau') to take part in the 25th, 26th and 27th Chemical Dialogue. To facilitate the understanding of the key issues of CD, 10 documents that are highly relevant to the CD have been translated, such as "Chemical Dialogue Terms of Reference", "APEC Chemical Dialogue: Strategic Framework for Chemicals in the Asia-Pacific Region 2020-2023", "APEC Best Practice Principles Checklist for Chemical Regulations", "Chemical Dialogue Regulatory Cooperation Report", and "APEC Chemical Dialogue: Regulatory Cooperation Checklist", etc. Also, the study collects APEC sub-forums related to chemical substance management and links with international organizations. On the other hand, to deepen the participation within the CD, the study plans two potential projects in terms of the APEC concept note format. In addition to enhancing the visibility of government departments in the international arena, the Bureau is considering the feasibility of increasing private sectors' participation in the near future. Therefore, it organises one panel with industry experts and seminars on international chemical substance management to promote the industry’s understanding of chemical dialogues.
